Many conference websites provide presenters with guidelines for conference papers, panels, and presentations.

In addition to providing basic guidelines for timing of panels and presentations and length of paper submissions, you might also consider including an accommodation statement (link to example) in the invitation and publicity materials.

Hosting an Accessible Conference

You will want to provide conference presenters and attendees with access information for the conference. The access information will vary depending on the format of the conference.

  • If the conference is hosted in-person, you will want to provide on-site access information about:
    • access to automatic doors, ramps, elevators, gender-neutral bathrooms, varied types of seating.
    • live-captioning and presenters use of microphone at all events.
